  • Q: What is range in feet for listening distance from the source? My Altec hydrojolt has 50 ft range. Can this match that? (3 answers)

A: I use the speaker in a 40 x 50 tent and it is plenty strong enough sound for that size!
  • Q: Can you use the speaker without the Sony app? (2 answers)

A: Hi Kas, Thank you for the inquiry! Yes, you can still operate this speaker without using the Sony Music Center app. Pairing and connecting to Bluetooth can be done manually. However, to get the most out of your XE200, the Sony Music Center app allows you to customize other operations and maximize your audio experience. Please take note that some features can be done with the “Sony | Music Center” app like sound quality setting and equalizer adjustment, built-in battery level indication, switching Bluetooth codec, and many more. What you can control with “Sony | Music Center” varies depending on the connected device. Hope this helps. Regards, Jess
  • Q: Does this speaker have adjustable bass and treble? I'm looking for a speaker in which you can adjust both. Thank you. (2 answers)

A: Hi Melya, Thank you for the inquiry! Unfortunately, this speaker does not support a built in equalizer to adjust the bass and treble. There are third party apps that can do that for this speaker. We recommend our SRS-XG300 it supports sound quality setting and equalizer adjustment using Sony Music Center app. Bring the party with you and spread sound with the XE200 Wireless speaker. A line shaped diffuser and X-balanced speakers provide a wide sound stage, with powerful bass and richer sound. Pair with IP67 Waterproof, dustproof and shockproof design, this speaker is made for even the strongest elements. -David
  • Q: Does this have an auxiliary port to plug an aux chord into? (2 answers)

A: No. That is the only complaint I have with the device.
  • Q: Hello Sony, How many devices can this speaker be connected to? I have the SRS-SB12 and can be only connected to only one device. (2 answers)

A: Hi Kaempfer, Thank you for your inquiry! You can connect multiple speakers (up to 100 speakers) compatible with the Party Connect function via BLUETOOTH connections and enjoy music playback. Or 2 SRS-XE200 speakers using the stereo pair function. And here are the devices compatible with the Party Connect function: LSPX-S3, SRS-XP700, SRS-XP500, SRS-XG500, SRS-XG300, SRS-XB43, SRS-XB33, SRS-XB23, SRS-XE300, SRS-XE200 REF: https://helpguide.sony.net/speaker/srs-xe200/v1/en/contents/TP1000669371.html Regards, Sam
  • Q: Can two of these speakers be used as surround sound for a Samsung sound bar. (1 answers)

A: Hello Daddoo, Most soundbars are a closed system, meaning they only work with their brand. So no, these will not work with a Samsung soundbar as rear speakers. As the XE200 is Bluetooth only they will not connect to Sony soundbars as rears, for this, there are specific “rear” speakers. They can have the audio from certain bars transmitted to them via Bluetooth. This generally means all the audio comes from the connected speaker and not the bar anymore. Hope this helps, -Sam
  • Q: Every time I turn on my speaker a gentle voice tell me when I am connected to how many devices and what my level of charge is - great ! However, in between these two informationals, the voice says "Battery care XXXX . What is it telling me ? (1 answers)

A: Hi tom, Thank you for reaching out to us. We really appreciate you like the voice guidance function of your XE2000 speaker, where you can hear if there is a BLUETOOTH connection established between the speaker and the devices and remaining battery power of the unit. For charging the built-in battery of the speaker, the Battery Care mode option is available in addition to the normal charging method. Battery Care mode limits the maximum charge capacity to approximately 90% and makes the battery life last longer. The playback time available in Battery Care mode is shorter than the time available when the built-in battery is charged by the normal charging method. At the time of purchase, the speaker is not in Battery Care mode. You can place/bring the speaker into/out of Battery Care mode with “Sony | Music Center.” Also, by using “Sony | Music Center,” you can activate/deactivate the voice guidance associated with the remaining battery power that you hear when you turn on the speaker. For more information about Voice guidance and Built-in battery life of the speaker, please check the Help Guide of the unit found on our Sony Support Site.
